More than 3000 mobile chips used to carry out criminal acts, inquiry reveals

Investigators of the national security services have started an inquiry over more than 3000 mobile chips and a number of internet keys acquired thorough forged identity cards and drive licenses.

• The investigations came following intelligence that the owners of these chips have been involved in various cases crimes including blackmailing, theft and sexual harassment, in addition to the use of these chips in drug trafficking.
• The criminals resort to these chips to threat citizens and blackmail them while others use them to carry out terrorist acts.
• The inquiries that have been carried out in many provinces across the country, including Algiers, Oran, Boumerdes and others, have revealed 50% of the chips were used to swindle citizens.
