Moroccan Army deserter, Abdelilah Issou: “My life is in jeopardy”
“The Moroccan intelligence services have tried to kidnap me in Madrid (Spain), so my life is in danger at any moment. If something unfortunate happens to me, the Makhzen's intelligence services and Morocco's Embassy in Madrid should be held fully accountable”, Abdelilah Issou says.
- Third and last part:
- Anouar Malek: Can you tell us about the situation of the Moroccan people …?
- Abdelilah Issou: The Moroccan people is still living in the dire poverty of the sixties and the seventies. From now and then, futile questions are created by the Makhzen to “entertain” and to “beguile” the Moroccan people with the covert aim of hiding its scathing failures and its manifold scandals.
- Anouar Malek: You have talked about some influential Moroccan personalities including General Abdellaziz Benani who holds the post of General Inspector of the Moroccan royal forces, can you gives us more details?
- Abdelilah Issou: I knew after my desertion from the Moroccan Army that General Abdellaziz Benani, who occupied the post of head of the southern region which encompasses Western Sahara, is directly involved in the profit-yielding smuggling trade of narcotics with dangerous international trafficking networks.
- During that period, he possessed a soft drinks company. The production of this enterprise is sold to Moroccan Army units in occupied Western Sahara. The head offices of this enterprise called “Bottling International” are located in the northern city of Tangiers. The lorries of this enterprise are used to transport cocaine from the port of El Ayoun to Tangiers where it is stockpiled before being funneled to Europe through the transport networks of Haschish.
- Colombian drug-lords have turned Morocco into a a transit platform of cocaine towards Europe with the covert blessing of the Makhzen.
- “The CNI is ubiquitous, even in the Moroccan King’s bedroom”
- Anouar Malek: You have accused the Spanish intelligence services “CNI” of having infiltrated into the corridors of the state and the Moroccan institutions, can you elaborate further?
- Abdelilah Issou: The Spanish intelligence services “Centro nacional de Inteligencia” (CNI) have succeeded in infiltrating into all the Moroccan institutions from the Royal Palace to the small barracks of the Army, the Gendarmerie and the police.
- Cooperation and collusion between the two sides is a blatant reality and this contradicts the reported pseudo conflict between the Moroccan institutions and the CNI.
- There are senior Moroccan Army officers who regularly convey secret reports containing military information to the Spanish CNI including exhaustive and updated reports of what is called as “Psychological profiles” of certain senior and junior Moroccan officers who occupy sensitive positions.
- These reports contain the weaknesses and the drawbacks of these officers notably those based in occupied Western Sahara in order to facilitate the CNI’s infiltration.
- Anouar Malek: You have filed a legal complaint in Madrid against the Moroccan intelligence services whom you accuse of attempted abduction in the Spanish capital …?
- Abdelilah Issou: The Moroccan intelligence services have tried to kidnap me in Madrid (Spain), so my life is in danger at any moment. If something unfortunate happens to me, the Makhzen’s intelligence services and Morocco‘s Embassy in Madrid should be held fully accountable.
- I logded a legal complaint with the Spanish police services in Madrid following this attempted kidnapping but nothing has been done so far to ensure my personal security.
- Anouar Malek: A last word …?
- Abdelilah Issou: I would like through the rostrum of “Echorouk” to launch a call to the entire world that my life is in danger and if a misfortune happens to me, I pin all the blame on the Moroccan Intelligence services and Morocco‘s Embassy here in Madrid.
- My security should be ensured by the Spanish authorities and the high commission for refugees (HCR). Finally, I warmly thank the Algerian newspaper “Echorouk” for having given me the opportunity to express myself in all sincerity and freedom.
