Moroccan man tears Algeria flag in Casablanca

A Moroccan man dropped the Algerian flag on Friday at the general consulate in Casablanca, two days after King Mohamed IV had withdrawn his ambassador for consultations in protest against Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s message to the Abuja Summit.

Moroccan media reported that Hamid Naanaa, an activist at the Royal Youth Movement entered the Algerian general consulate and tore the Algerian flag while security forces and guards did not react.
This behavior reflects Morocco’s hostile plan to incite people and provoke Algeria. Mohamed IV did not even address a congratulations message to President Bouteflika on the Algerian Revolution Day although Algiers congratulated Rabat on its Throne Day.
Moroccans who were “brainwashed” by their government protested at the consulate against Algeria’s position towards the Western Sahara issue.
The building was surrounded while the Moroccan police did not intervene.
The Moroccan news agency said the young man was arrested by the judicial police and would be prosecuted as the Algerian ambassador to Morocco sued him.
