Moroccan regime mobilizes its ambassadors against Algeria

Morocco’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Salaheddine Mezouar, met in Brussels, with the ambassadors of the Kingdom in to European Union, on Monday, to discuss the need to implement the directives of Mohammed VI to respond to the enemies of the Kingdom, as the minister said.

A statement of the Foreign Ministry quoted Salaheddine Mezouar as saying: “The need for effective implementation of the directives of King Mohammed VI, which came in the speech of the legislative year opening on last October, in which he called for a multi-dimensional diplomatic attack and go out for the defense of Morocco fair issues, in the various interfaces and international meetings to be proactive about movements in the face of Morocco opponents”. 

The word “opponents” implicitly refers to Algeria, as it is the phrase used by Moroccan officials when talking about Algeria.

Head of the Moroccan diplomacy said that this will not happen without a comprehensive review of the diplomatic speech which exceeded the official diplomatic channels in promoting the presence of Morocco internationally in the face of his opponents, towards an approach that is more open and effective based on media and new multiple mechanisms, which kept pace with the changes that are taking place in today’s world and the challenges that are awaiting Morocco.

Mezouar called upon the Moroccan ambassadors to implement the directives of the King, as contained in the speech of the legislative year opening, so after efforts by Morocco to prevent the passage of the U.S. administration’s proposal, on last April, which was to expand the MINURSO’s mission to include the human rights monitoring in the southern provinces of Morocco.

New orientation, will not happen according to the minister, without a comprehensive review of the diplomatic speech, exceeding the official diplomatic channels in promoting the presence of Morocco internationally, in the face of its opponents, towards an approach that is more open and effective using media and new multiple mechanisms, that kept pace with the changes taking place in today’s world and the challenges that await Morocco, to confirm the status of parallel diplomacy, which politicians adopt more and more.
