Morocco asks Algeria to raise natural gas share
Rabat officially asked Algiers to raise Moroccan natural gas share by 2010 from 800 million to 1.6 billion cubic meters per year in return for traffic charges exemption, as stated Monday by the Moroccan Minister of Energy in a Moroccan newspaper.

Moroccan authorities confirmed its request to Algeria for doubling its share of natural gas in 2010 from the pipelines of “West Moroccan gas”, which links Algeria to Spain via Morocco. Rabat is currently getting about 800 million cubic meters there per year in return for “traffic charges exemption”.
