Algerian foreign minister Friday condemned remarks of Morocco’s Independence Party leader Hamid Chebat and described them as “serious and unacceptable.”

“Those serious remarks of Secretary General of Morocco’s Independence Party are a dangerous and non responsible deviation. Algeria condemns them,” said Omar Blani in a written statement.

“The Algerian lands sovereignty and integrity can never be submitted to political maneuvers,” he added.

This comes as Chebat Wednesday said Tindouf, Knadessa and Hassi Beidha are “Moroccan towns and have nothing to do with Algeria.”

This statement is considered as provoking regarding feelings of Algerians who had fought for 132 years to chase the French colonization from those towns.

Moroccan media reported that Chebat’s remarks “will be evoked in the Moroccan State’s structures once again.”

All it seems, Morocco resumes “revenge” following developments in the Western Sahara issue at the UN Security Council.

Earlier, Algerian interior minister paid a visit to Rabat where he attended a meeting of Arab Maghreb’s interior ministers amid Moroccan media’s hostility against Algeria.

A senior official told Echorouk Algeria is ready to open its borders with Morocco provided it respects three conditions, in response to Moroccan foreign minister’s remarks.
