Morocco's “Makhzen” in tight corner after Echorouk's fact-finding assignment report in occupied Sahraoui town of Dakhla (Part 4)
Writer and Journalist Anouar Malek
As a matter of fact, it is obviously clear that the Moroccan authorities have often exploited and warped my statements made to the press for disinformation purposes in order to hoodwink the world public opinion about the clear-cut decolonization issue of occupied Western Sahara.
-
In this contest, the female Egyptian writer, Wafa Ismaïl, did not also bother to distort my statements contained in an interview she granted to the website: “Akhbar El Aârab” in Canada on April 1st 2008.
-
-
In an online article under the title: “Has Anouar Malek been wronged?” she takes up with the unwholesome Moroccan habit of exploiting mendaciously my various declarations to the press.
-
-
Anyway, I should say that I have never backed a regime which smothers the popular will and aspirations for freedom and independence and I have never made any distinction in terms of human rights’ violations anywhere in the world and in particular regarding the Moroccan regime’s unspeakable exactions unleashed against the oppressed Sahraoui people in occupied Western Sahara.
-
-
The official Moroccan news media which affirm the opposite have desperately sought to belittle me in the eyes of the international public opinion by indulging in mendacious remarks about me and my noble intentions aimed only at enlightening people about the ins and outs of the Western Sahara issue and the horrendous plight now being endured by the freedom-seeking Sahraoui people.
-
-
To substantiate my argument, the Moroccan weekly magazine “El Mechâal” in its issue of 11/09/2008 went as far as to assert that I told them that the Algerian oil was Moroccan!
-
-
Anything goes, only baloney and fiddlesticks to hoodwink their readers!!!
-
-
This slandering campaign unleashed by the obsessive Moroccan Makhzen against me in the wake of the publishing by “Echorouk” of my exhaustive and fair-minded fact-finding report at the end of my visit to the occupied Sahraoui town of Dakhla is clear evidence of the grudge and ill-feeling harboured by the Moroccan regime against any Algerian in quest of truth and objectivity.

Their reaction was hostile to the hilt as the Moroccan authorities at the behest of the Makhzen were seeking through the makeshift “Dakhla symposium” to foist on those attending their so-called “autonomy plan” for occupied Western Sahara whose population is rejecting outright with their only motto being: “self – determination”.
