Morsi invites Bouteflika to visit Egypt

In a statement to the press after the meeting with the president Bouteflika, the Egyptian Prime Minister Hicham Qandil. said that he transmitted Egypt President Mohamed Morsi greetings and an “invitation to visit promptly Egypt, his second country.”

He added having discussed with the head of the State about the issues interesting both countries notably the Arab region and the situation in Syria.

“We have agreed “the need for support the efforts of stability in Libya and reinforce cooperation between both countries (Algeria and Egypt),” Qandil noted.

“During this visit, the state of bilateral cooperation was assessed and means were considered to reinforce and enlarge this co-operation to further fields in line with the willingness of both countries’ leaders to strengthen co-operation”.

“The visit allowed an exchange of views, consultations and co-ordination about topics concerning the Arab world and the different regional and international issues”.

Qandil started on Monday a three-day visit to Algeria at the head of a large delegation at the invitation of Abdelmalek Sellal for overall assessment of the bilateral cooperation and consideration of ways and means to strengthen it.

Egyptian Prime Minister Hicham Qandil’s visit to Algeria represents a new opportunity to make a global assessment to bilateral co-operation between Algeria and Egypt and also consider ways to deepen, and also exchange views and opinions about the issues of common interest.
Among members of Qandil’s delegation are Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr, Information Minister Salah Abdelmakssoud, Communication Minister Hani Mahmoud, Petroleum Minister Oussama Kamel, Planning and International Co-operation Minister Ashraf Al-Arabi, businessmen and corporate leaders.
In Cairo, Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamal Amr highlighted the importance of the upcoming visit of Qandil, saying that Algeria and Egypt were linked by a deep history and that “the blood of their children had mingled to defend Arab territories and not only the territories of Egypt or the territories of Algeria”.
He added that Oandil’s visit was “an important step towards strengthening relations between the two peoples in the economic field and in the context of the ongoing political dialogue between the two countries in socio-economic and cultural fields”.
