Mosque of Paris Aims at Affiliating all Algerian Religious Associations in France

More than 2000 religious associations of Algerian community in France and representatives of Algerian nationals elsewhere in Europe will hold a meeting on Thursday to be chaired by the rector of the Great Mosque of Paris, Dalil Aboubakr.

A well informed source said the meeting which is to be held in the northern province of Lille is the first of its kind, given that it aims at affiliating all the existing religious associations of Algerian community in France under the wing of the Mosque of Paris, which is considered as a French organization complied with the code of association of 1901.

The same source mentioned that the meeting will discuss current issues related to the religious life of Algerian nationals abroad, after a long period of discord, following conflicts that emerged between the Mosque of Paris and heads of some religious associations. 

The organizers aim at making of Thursday meeting a starting point towards creating a new dynamism to unifying the Algerian community in France and defend its rights in accordance with French laws.
