Motorcycle suicide bomber’s identity unknown: Algerian Interior Minister

Algerian Interior Minister, Nourreddine Yazid Zerhouni Sunday said security forces are still continuing their investigation to identify the suicide bomber who wan on a motorcycle and targeted a military track last week in Lakhdaria (east of Algiers).

The number of people injured in this attack is 10. One of them was seriously injured and left the hospital, Zerhouni told journalists.

Speaking about the way in which this act was carried out and the process of choosing motorcycles, he said these are new ways and those who perpetrated these crimes must stop.

He confirmed that his department begun training specialized teams in fighting the phenomenon of kidnapping, which had known a large spread in Bouira, Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia ( east of Algiers).

As for the return of riots in the southern town of Brriane, Zerhouni confirmed that security forces have control on the situation.

“Two police stations and urban security offices were opened in the area,” he added.
