Mourad Meghni to Echorouk: “I am eager to get fit again ahead of the 2010 World Cup”
Shortly after his arrival in Doha (Qatar) for medical treatment to have his lingering tendinitis injury cured, the talented Algeria midfielder, Mourad Meghni, granted an exclusive interview to Echorouk's correspondent based in the Qatari capital.

Echorouk : Why have you chosen Doha for medical treatment?
-
-
Meghni : Well, you know there is here in Doha a renowned hospital for the treatment of sporting injuries. The choice of this hospital has been made by the Algerian Football Federation which also sent here my teammate Madjid Bougherra for a similar treatment.

-
Echorouk : Are you still optimistic as to your participation in the 2010 World cup contest with the Algeria football line-up?
-
-
Meghni : I am confident that after an appropriate treatment of my injury here in Doha, I will be ready afterwards to take part with my teammates in the upcoming World cup competition in South Africa starting from next June 2010.
-
-
Echorouk : Did this tendenitis injury have a nefarious impact on your morale?
-
-
Meghni : Yes, it did have a negative psychological effect on me at the beginning. But, I am used to injuries and I have always got over them well and swiftly. I am eager now to regain my good physical shape as early as possible so as to be ready, God willing, for the South African World cup competition.

Echorouk : What was your first reaction when you saw the numerous Algerian fans welcoming you heartily at Doha airport on your arrival there?
-
-
Meghni : Well, I should say that I was first taken aback and overjoyed at this hearty welcome extended to me by my Algerian compatriots at Doha airport. This could only be a hefty stimulus to help me get over my injury shortly and be ready for the D. Day in order to defend heartily the Algerian colours during the forthcoming World cup tournament.
