National gendarmerie arrests 24 youngsters seeking illegal immigration west of Algeria
Services of the Algerian National Gendarmerie and coats guards stopped the attempt to sail towards the Spanish coats by 24 youngsters in Oran, west of Algeria.

Colonel Aissa Bidel, commander of the regional gendarmerie of Oran said, during the presentation of the case, that the gendarmes arrested five youngsters who were prepared for illegal immigration by sea in “Sakhr El Ajouz” beach at about 3 am in order to flee the security control, while 19 youngsters tried to escape on board of a rubber boat before being caught by the coast guards after few meters. Now they are all subjected to investigation at the local gendarmerie of Ain Turk, Oran, west of Algeria.

“Control has been tightened at the level of beaches in the coastal areas, and patrols were recruited in unguarded beaches and regions that are considered points of sail for illegal immigrants”, colonel Menad told Echorouk.
