“Nedjma” mobile operator asked the public authorities to provide legal and regulatory conditions that allow the emergence of a legitimate and fair competition in the Algerian mobile market, which noticed serious structural imbalances because of the lack of regulatory measures, that are applied in the world , and in all ‭countries which‬ preceded ‭Algeria in the liberalization of ‭communications.

The company “Nedjma” said, in a statement available to Echorouk, that its demands, which are considered as legal, legitimate, very clear and does not have any confusion about the state’s intervention through its services to restore the balance in the market, which does not mean, according to the company, removing clients from an operator and give them to another‭.

Mr. Joseaph Ged, General Manager of “Nedjma”, which is the Qatari Qtel’s Algeria branch, said that the process of rebalancing the market of mobile operators, intended to provide a competitive environment which allows each company to achieve the added value and protect the customers’ freedom to choose their favourite operator freely, while maintaining the same number, far from ‭making the subscribers hostage of one operator under the penalty of‬ loosing their mobile numbers,‬ if they left an operator and choose another one‭.

“What is achieved today by “Djezzy”, which belongs to the Russian company “VimpelCom”, from the evolution in market share and the high number of subscribers, is no longer linked to the level of weak investments of this mobile operator, which is accused of exercising arbitrary acts, a status that was registered by the authorities of ‭ ‬ controlling ‭post, wired and wireless communications, after focusing on the commercial number in its decision of‬ ‭ ‬ February%
