Netherlands FM visits Algeria
Maxime Verhagen, Netherlands' Foreign Minister
Netherlands' Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen arrived Tuesday to Algeria on a two-day official visit as part of bilateral talks.

Verhagen described bilateral relations between Algeria and Netherlands as “good” saying he hoped his visit would boost them.

“The two countries have links in trade sector and counter-terrorism,” he told reporters when arrived at Algiers airport.

Algeria is an important supplier of liquid natural gas (LNG) to Netherlands, a country seeking of becoming the ’gas rotunda’ of Europe.

In March 2007, Netherlands signed an investment protection agreement (IBO) with Algeria creating legal security for mutual investors.
