New Academic Year: 7.600 Newly-Registered Students At Bab Ezzouar University
The head of the University of Sciences and Technology (USTHB) located at Bab Ezzouar on the eastern outskirts of Algiers, Mr Benali Benzaghou, has announced that 7.600 new students have registered in various courses of study for the new academic year 2012-2013 bringing the total number of students recorded for studies leading to the bachelor’s degree to 28.812 at this very university.
- The head of the University of Sciences and Technology (USTHB) located at Bab Ezzouar on the eastern outskirts of Algiers, Mr Benali Benzaghou, has announced that 7.600 new students have registered in various courses of study for the new academic year 2012-2013 bringing the total number of students recorded for studies leading to the bachelor’s degree to 28.812 at this very university.
- This number of newly-registered students is shared out between several courses of study including “sciences and technology” with 3.174, “nature sciences” (1.376), “sciences of the earth and the universe” (907), “sciences of the matter” (1.240), and “mathematics and computing” (904).
- However, this number could well be altered in view of some students’ requests for a change of the initial course of study submitted to the university managerial staff in September 2012, Mr Benghazou told a press conference Tuesday on the occasion of the new academic year.
- The start of university courses for the first semester is set for next Sunday, while the exams will be held from the 6th to 17th January 2013, in consistence with the time-table worked out to this effect by the university’s administration.
- With regard to the second semester, it will kick-off on February 3rd 2013 while the exams are slated from May 26th to June 6th of the same year.
