Nine Algerian pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia

Officials told Echorouk thousands of Algerian pilgrims protested in the sacred rites place on Arafa day ahead of Eid Al Adha because of delay in transporting them from Mecca.
Pilgrims in camps in Mena were surprised by the cut of electricity for hours. Many of them suffered from asphyxia and psychological troubles.
The medical delegation made more than 20,000 interventions including check up, first-aid treatment and transfer to Saudi hospitals. A total of nine Algerian pilgrims died. Three of them were living abroad.
According to the same sources, most of the deaths were due to hear attacks and asphyxia among elderly people.
The Algerian pilgrims protested against the absence of people in charge of preparing tents in Mena as they are dirty and unprepared.
They also complained about the absence of guides in the Algerian delegation. That made tens of pilgrims lost but they were brought back to their camps.
General conditions of about three million pilgrims were improved in Arafa mountain thanks to new measures taken by Saudi authorities.
