No more need for military service card to get job in Algeria
Algerians can now apply for recruitment tests without providing a military service card after the government decided to ban the condition starting from November.

General Director of civil service Djamel Kherchi has given instructions to all government departments concerned by recruitment to allow job seekers taking recruitment tests without submitting a military service card.

According to the new instructions, administrations are not allowed to reject people’s job applications if they lack military service cards. Any reject will be considered as a violation of law.

The Algerian law stipulates that one and a half years of national military service is compulsory for all males starting from age of 19.
