No proof of the existence of Algerian mercenaries in Libya, says Ould Kablia
Interior Minister, Dahou Ould Kablia, said on Monday there is “no proof” of the alleged involvement of Algerians in mercenary operations in Libya.
“There’s, so far, no proof that Algerians are fighting with irregular forces loyal to Libyan Leader Muammar Al Gaddafi,” Ould Kablia told reporters on the sidelines of his working visit to Adrar province, southern the country.
To recall, rebels said on Sunday they had captured 15 Algerian mercenaries and killed another three during fierce fighting in Ajdabiya city.
Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci said such allegations are unfounded and aims at offending the good reputation of Algeria. He also mentioned that Algeria cannot bias to any of the disputing parties in Libya.
