No reconciliation with Egypt: President of Algerian Football Federation declares
Mohamed Raouraoua
The President of the Algerian Football Federation ( FAF) Mohammed Raouraoua has once again excluded any form of reconciliation with the Egyptian side as part of several initiatives launched by numerous parties recently, especially by the president of the Arab Football Union, Sultan Ben Fahd an his Vice – President Nouaf Ben Fayçal in a move to end the conflict between Algeria and Egypt at earliest.
-
-
Relationships between the two countries deteriorated since the cowardly attack over the Algerian bus in Cairo two days before the return match between the two teams as part of the qualifiers to the world cup competition.
-
-
The attack has left three injuries among the Algerian players namely: Rafik Halliche, Khaled Lemouchia and Rafik Saifi.
-
-
Sources close to the President of the Federation have revealed to Echourok that Mohammed Raouraoua vehemently rejects any reconciliation with those who insulted our martyrs and history alike and there is not, according to him, any other alternative but a formal apology pending the official standpoint of the Algerian authorities over these insults.
-
-
The Algerian authorities are the sole and unique representatives of the Algerian people, thus eligible to take a decision concerning this sensitive issue.
-
-
Thank you for Sultan Fahd… but the cut is deep

The chairman of the Algerian Federation, who is an influential figure at the Arab Football Federation, has deeply appreciated the mediation of the President of this Union in order to melt the ice between the two parties, but he refused a reconciliation with his Egyptian counterpart Samer Zaher, indicating that the issue goes beyond the sportive context and it deals with dignity of a whole people and its history.

The source added in this respect, that the Egyptian delegation led by Samer Zaher is due to head for Djeddah, Saudi Arabia, this morning to take part to the elections of the new Executive Board of the Arab Football Union.
