Nouri: “Inspection committees to launch an inventory of neglected agricultural land in all cities”

Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development decided to send inspection committees to all cities in order to investigate in the extent of the peasants’ land exploration, and who benefited from the distribution of lands and know the reasons for their reluctance to exploit them and take necessary action.

Reasons for the high prices of dry beans due to speculators, as the ministry reduced the number of documents for those interested in investing in the agricultural sector, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdelouahab Nouri told media , on the sidelines of the meeting for evaluating the sector’s performance that was held at the Ministry’s headquarters said.

 

“Commission of inspections will begin in the investigation on the unused land by beneficiaries whose number is 200 farmers, who benefited from vast areas, but did not initiate so far to exploit it. I noticed during my recent visit Adrar, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, that dozens of hectares were distributed without being exploited, in order to take the necessary actions to do so”.

 

Previously, PM Abdelmalek Sellal, gave the farmers who benefited from lands that were granted by the state for investment for six months to direct investments, were taken away from them.

 

PM Sellal expressed his willingness to provide all the facilities for investors wishing to invest in the agricultural sector to upgrade it, and encouraged those willing to invest in the manufacturing industries, because it is an important objective to ensure food security , admitting at the same time, the lack of this kind of industries which caused the recession of large quantities of agricultural production, asserting that it is due to the high prices of dry beans by speculators, considering that a large part of it is imported from abroad, pledging to provide all facilities for those wishing to invest in the grains.
