Officials and businessmen’s sons jailed for drug trade in Algeria
A number of well-known officials and businessmen’s sons in Algeria were jailed accused of heroin trade and working for an international network.
According to commander of the National Gendarmerie in Bouira (125km east of Algiers) Ryad Berkat, an investigation was launched two months ago. Among the suspects there are the son of hotels owner in Zeralda (west of Algiers), the son of a businessman who has factories in Algeria and France and the son of an importer in Delly Brahim.
The investigation showed that they sold one single heroin injection for 4,000 DZ. Rich people bought from them.
The suspects told investigators they brought the drug from France through airports and ports with the help of a number of people. Three of them have negative antecedents and have been trading drug for years.
