OJD: Echorouk tops Algeria newspapers
Algeria’s daily newspaper Echorouk Al Yaoumi reached 2.04 percent sale growth in January-June 2013 and circulation of 511,974 copies per day, according to OJD, an association in charge of press circulation monitoring.
Echorouk Al Yaoumi comes first among other Arab-speaking newspapers including El Khabar and Ennahar El Djedid. El Khabar’s circulation growth went down by -10.07 percent and Ennahar El Djedid by -9.40 percent during the same period.
OJD says Echorouk Al Yaoumi circulated 517,820 copies per day between January 1st and 27th2013. Of them, 482,481 were sold. El Khabar printed 406,378 and sold 362,798 during the same period while Ennahar circulated 344,733 and sold 294,082.
Echorouk Al Yaoumi kept its position as Algeria’s largest newspaper in terms of circulation and sales as its growth increased compared to July-December 2012. On Fridays in January 2013, it circulated 308,738, 316, 975 in April and 307, 750 in June.
Echorouk Al Yaoumi maintained its leading position due to many objective clues and professional data.
It continued its mission to get closer to people by covering all the events directly related to their living conditions, problems and daily concerns in different provinces. It has professional journalists and correspondents.
The newspaper also covered different political, economic and social events in Algeria and reported information and exclusive news in a professional, objective and credible way.
It dealt with regional and international events including major changes in some Arab countries and the situation on borders.
Echorouk Al Yaoumi also opened its pages to testimonies of political and revolutionary personalities who experienced major events in the past. It focused on publishing a series of interviews in many vital fields.
