One billion and 400 million Algerian Dinars to protect tourists in Algerian Sahara
General Director of Algerie Telecom Satellite (a subsidiary of Algerie Telecom) M. Mouhieddine Maache said 1 billion and 400 million Algerianj dinars were allocated for the establishment of important satellite communications projects in the next 3 years.

M. Mouhieddine Maache told Echorouk that the projects include the updating of security systems via satellite for telesurveillance. This system is primarily used by the ministry of defence as the most important and strategic customer of the institution. Touristy agencies also use it to ensure safety of tourists and protect them from being missing and kidnapping in the Algerian Sahara.

Mr. Mouhieddine Maachi confirmed that the company has invested nearly 1 billion and 200 million DA since its establishment in July 2006.

“ we are seeking for directing our services to touristy agencies so that tourists would not reported missing neither kidnapped. This can be done through telecontrolling and teleservices,” he added.
