One million to take final primary exams in Algeria
One million and 132,599 pupils at primary schools in Algeria are expected to take their primary final exam on Tuesday.

One million and 132,599 pupils at primary schools in Algeria are expected to take their primary final exam on Tuesday. An increase of 78.63 percent with 582,216 additional pupils was recorded this year. The candidates will take exams in three main subjects: Arabic, mathematics and French. Those who get 5 points or more out of 10 will be passed.

  • Another session will be organised on June 24th for those who fail in the exams.
  • According to a statement issued by Algerian Education Ministry, that session is not meant to punish pupils neither is it done for excluding them. It aims at assessing the pupils’ skills in the main subjects.
  • The pupils who did not pass the first session of the exams will benefit from courses and pedagogical support between June 7 and 19th.
  • The number of candidates in the new educative system is estimated at 550,135 with 41.59 percent. Males represent 50.13 percent. The number of foreign pupils has reached 71. On the other hand, a total of 772,464 pupils in the old educative system are due to take the exams including 419.154 males and 104 foreigners.
  • Though the education ministry decided that the old educative system pupils pass to junior high school first year, it works on organising the primary final exams with all its standards in terms of supervision or organisation.
