Opposition parties decide to go down to the street

A Group of political parties and national figures decided to go out of the stage of meetings to organize rallies and regional gatherings, in order to deploy their bases and put pressure on the authority to force it to postpone the constitution’s amendment until the end of elections, and changing the ministers that are concerned with the organization of the electoral process.

Leaders of 37 political parties, as well as national figures will hold a consultative meeting next Thursday, to put the finishing touches on a program of work, which is quite different from meeting which this new bloc held since its creation, which is organizing summit meetings in the presence of media to announce the initiatives that are related to the upcoming presidential elections, as the most recent meeting noticed the parties’ demand to postpone the amendment of the Constitution, “so as not to be a service for specific targets, which is enabling the President to continue to rule with the assistance of the Vice-President in the performance of his duties”, in addition to demanding the installation of a consensus government that will organize elections in the light of transparency and integrity.

Leader of the Front for Good Governance, Issa Belhadi told Echorouk, that the new plan included organizing regional meetings, that are stimulated by the leaders of the parties that make up the Group of 37, as well as national figures, which have been engaged in this bloc, to explain the stakes of the upcoming elections, and the feasibility of the demands that have been filed.

This move coincides with the beginning of the countdown to the call of the electorate, which will take place in mid-January, with the continued uncertainty that dominates the political affairs, and which has made political parties defer their actions and decisions until the President will announce his position of coming dates, which was considered by observers as a weakness of the political class, which has been unable to develop a position, or impose a point of view and force the power to adopt it, as well as failing to agree on unified demands that all the opposition parties decided to raise, but they were unable to gather in a single block due to the numerous initiatives, as they serve mostly in one direction, which is the organization transparent elections, that are clean from the dominance of the administration.
