Ouyahia calls for Algerian Diaspora as economic input

Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia urged Wednesday Algerians living abroad to form a Diaspora to contribute in developing expertise and know-how in Algeria.

• Ouyahia said “Algeria needs its sons living abroad” calling on them to form a “lobby” to promote “their country’s economy outside hydrocarbons.”

• “A total of 99 percent of Algerian executives living in foreign countries were trained in Algeria,” he said as answering deputies’ questions at the Council of the Nation.

• The prime minister called on them to “think of what they would offer to Algeria according to their experience and capacities.”
•  
• Indians constitute the largest Diaspora in the world after China as it has worldwide roots. Non Resident Indians have played a major role in the country’s foreign investment since its 1991 economic reforms.
