Over 1 million Algerians travelled to 43 countries worldwide in the past 6 months

The number of Algerian nationals, who travelled overseas in the past 6 months, has exceeded one million with about 500 thousand of them settled abroad and over 700 thousand others deciding to visit other countries after securing the necessary visas from the various foreign diplomatic representations here.

•  The Algerians travellers visited in all 43 countries notably in Europe, the Arab Maghreb, Asia, Africa and the United States of America.
• According to figures, over 300 thousand Algerians headed this summer for Tunisia which takes the lion’s share in the number of Algerian visitors who are most of them holiday – makers.
• France also remains a favourite destination for the Algerians with the recent figures showing that 510 thousand Algerians travelled to this country since the start of 2008 while 54 thousand others chose Spain as a destination during the same period.
• At the Arab level, 24 thousand Algerians travelled to Libya from January to June 2008 and a lesser number visited other Arab countries like Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
