Over 1000 kg of Algerian aid to Gaza stored in the Red Crescent warehouses

Over 1000 kg of Algerian aid to Gaza stored in the Red Crescent warehouses

Amounts of the Algerian aid which are stockpiled in the Red Crescent’s warehouses exceed 1000 kg of various essential products. Algerian factories donated these products to help Gaza’s people after the Israeli strikes on the Gaza strip.

  • Previously, the Egyptian embassy in Algeria refused to grant visas to Algerian doctors who were charged of transferring these aids and deliver them in Gaza.
  •
  • “The closure of Rafah crossing as well as all the other crossings between Egypt and Gaza by the Egyptian authorities resulted in obstruction of the air-bridge between Algeria and Gaza which was launched by the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika during the Israeli attacks on Gaza. This led to the accumulation of 1000 kg of aids to Gaza inside the Algerian Red Crescent. We gave all these aids by Algeria to the Palestinian Red Crescent before the closure of the crossings,” Hadj Hamou Ben Zghir, head of the Algerian Red Crescent said.
  •
  • “I lost contact with the four Algerian psychologists, belonging to the Red Crescent, in the Gaza strip since the closure of the crossings. I was reassured by representatives of the Palestinian Red Crescent about the doctors’ status. Head of the Algerian Red Crescent is not yet sure about whether they went out of Gaza or not before the crossings’ closure” he added.
