Over 300 women involved in Algeria smuggling networks

A total of 307 women were involved in smuggling different goods across border points in Algeria while 22 women were behind abductions of tens of children, according to a security report.

• “More than 100 women were involved in prostitution networks and 241 others perpetrated violent acts causing serious injuries to their victims,” said the same report.
• Women are also involved in illegal immigration. The National Gendarmerie forces say they arrested 192 females trying to smuggle themselves to the other side of the Mediterranean Sea.
• Some 127 women were arrested for stealing and forgery while 47 others were accused of murders.
