Over 79,000 merchants included in the National List of Cheaters
Services of Economic Control and Fraud Suppression at the Commerce Ministry ordered the inclusion of 79,022 merchants in the National List of illegal traders, since the start of work with this measure in September 2010 until the end of March 2014, General Manager Abdelmadjid Sahnoune said during a press conference that was held at the Ministry’s headquarters for viewing this year’s first quarter outcome.
“Traders who are enrolled in in the Cheaters List have committed serious illegal violations that affect the legitimacy of the business practices, such as not depositing social accounts of more than 37,000 companies and 5813 traders, because of the lack of the goods’ billing which value worth more than 100 million centimes.”
“Law allowed the withdrawal of any dealer or company from the list, once the legal status is settled, under the condition of pledging not to return to the same practices within two years, otherwise he/she will be put on the list permanently. Over 3,335 companies have been withdrawn from the list.”
“Since the beginning of 2014, 300,000 interventions were recorded by agents of censorship and repression of fraud, allowing the disclosure of a hidden turnover worth 1165 billion centimes, as a result of commercial transactions that are not postpaid, and which are higher than 1094 billion centimes, with an increase of 6.5 % compared to the same period of last year.”
Regarding the non-conforming imported goods, the spokesman explained that 367 containers with an amount of more than 44,000 tons and a financial value of 309 billion centimes were seized due to non-conformity with the legislation in force.
Violations that were related to not matching with the tag or not announcing prices and tariffs, and the practice of commercial activity without possession of a shop, in addition to opposing the control and not respecting the commercial register, as well as the lack of billing and exercise of illegal prices, which are the most important irregularities that were recorded in the field of control over business practices.
“Most important violations were recorded in the field of quality control and suppression of fraud, that was mainly represented in the lack of cleanliness and hygiene, and fraud in product formulations, not matching with the tag, lack of self-censorship, the acquisition and selling goods that do not fit with consumption, the absence of guarantee certificate and opposition control missions as well.
