Palestinians are victims of Israeli terrorism, says Galloway

Algerian Moroccan borders were re-opened for Gaza convoy on Sunday after 15 years of closure. Its leader George Galloway described the opening as “beautiful moments after a first opening for Iraq convoy in 2002.”

• Galloway said there were masses of Algerians welcoming the convoy. “Algeria knows about the occupation better than any other country,” he told Echorouk in an interview on Monday.
• Asked what he was expecting from Algeria and Morocco on the borders issue, Galloway said he looked forward a day when all borders between Arab countries are opened. “Or even my son Zineddine Galloway who is two years old will see in his life all borders between Arab countries are opened.”
• He showed his support to Palestinians who he considers as victims of the Zionist terrorism. “One man’s resistant is another man’s terrorist. Palestinians are not terrorists but they are victims of terrorists.”
• “Terrorists is not a helpful word. We come in peace meaning no harm to any one and we do not want to be stopped,” he added.
• Speaking on Rafah crossing point with Gaza, Galloway said the border is due to be opened for three days. He hopes that Egypt makes the same exception as Algeria and opens it whether Hamas and Israel reaches an agreement or not.
• He called for establishing a Palestinian state and opening the Arab borders with full sovereignty and no settlement.
• He also called for giving the Palestinian refugees their right to return home.
• Asked whether his convoy has political intentions in addition to solidarity ones, Galloway said they “do not have any intention to be involved between Arab people.”
• He added that Algeria’s people were fixing their cars, feeding them and supplying them with fuel which is a “magnificent gesture.”
