Particular status for the National Police: “Towards a curtailment of working hours”
The Ministry of the Interior and Local Assemblies has submitted to the government's General secretariat two particular statutes regarding the national police and the civil protection. These 2 constituent bodies, who count 160.000 employees, will have their statutes thoroughly revamped for a better running and efficiency of their daily task.

Once they are adopted by the government, the 2 draft executive decrees related to the particular status for the national police and the civil protection will streamline among other things the legal work schedule for these 2 bodies.

From the current 65 working hours every week in force within the national police, the new statutes provides for a reduction to 40 working hours per week to be in line with the procedures and regulations already in force in other sectors of activity.

Under the new projected executive decrees, the agents working for these 2 security bodies will benefit in the near future from additional military training sessions in order to make them upgrade their know-how and thereby allow them to seek career promotion in their respective line of work.

The government will also examine a proposed hike in the financial bonuses to be allotted to these agents who accept to work in the southern part of the country (the Sahara) or in risky zones of the country.

Furthermore, the functions and the missions of the civil protection body which counts currently 28.000 agents will also be reviewed for a better work efficiency allowing for brighter prospects for all the dutiful and meritorious agents.
