Pharaohs original artefacts smuggled and sold with billions in Algeria
The three trufickers arrested by the national gendarmerie
Services of the Algerian gendarmerie dismantled the largest network of trading smuggling of rare artefacts and recovered the statue of the pharaoh king Tutankhamen and a statue of Ramses II, as well as another statue of pharaohs’ gods, which is a very rare piece with a great historical value, according to a report by the experience.

Investigators also seized original paintings belonging to the famous artists of the 18th century such as Giovanni Madonini which costs over one million euro.

Sources, relevant to the investigation in this case, said the investigators were able, in tow separate operations in Skikda and Guelma, east of Algeria, to thwart the attempt to smuggle these rare artefacts, particularly the statue of Ramses II made of bronze with the length of 18 cm and 800 weigh, as well as another statue of one pharaohs god, and half statue of the pharaoh king Tutankhamen, made of the high-grade marble.

Others Chinese statues were also recovered one of them features a Chinese man and woman with 30 cm length and made of ivory.

Gendarmes in Guelma, east of Algeria, arrested four men on charges of smuggling rare artefacts.

In the second operation, the national gendarmerie of Skikda, east of Algeria, arrested another trafficker “B.S” retired at the age of 61, on board of a Nissan type car, trying to smuggle four artefacts including a vase with different pictures of semi-naked women, and animals including a wolf, a snake and an eagle on a tree branch, as well as a circular piece consisting fees, a man’s head, a third piece of metal in the form of an animal like the antelope inside grass and trees, as well as a fourth piece which is an hour of decorated paintings.

When investigators move to his house they found a large museum after two hours of control, as they recovered 117 artefacts, copper standard, an elephant statue made of silver, a French coq statue made of mixed silver and copper.
