Phelps is USOC's Sportsman of the Year
Michael Phelps, the American record-setting swimmer was name Thursday the U.S. Olympic Committee's (USOC) sportsman of the year.

The Sportswoman of the Year honour was shared by swimmer Natalie Coughlin and gymnast Nastia Liukin while the US men’s volleyball squad took Team of the Year and swimmer Erin Popovich was named the 2008 US Paralympian of the Year.
