PM Ouyahia to decide on pending swine flu vaccine file by June 15th
Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia has ordered the rescinding of all contracts initialed by private national pharmaceutical companies with foreign ones without the full involvement of those specialized commissions duly representing national public hospitals in order to head off any financial malpractice or embezzlement.
-
Henceforth, all contracts on the import of medicines notably vaccines should secure beforehand the green light from the relevant commissions.
-
Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia is also set to decide on the pending file of the swine flu vaccines which have been imported in very large quantities by Algeria during the H1.N1 flu outbreak.
-
With the H1.N1 scare now over, the large stock of these vaccines is still stored for no use and could become outdated in a short period of time posing a real headache to the health authorities.
-
Mr Ouyahia is set to decide on this vexed issue by mid June by issuing firm instructions to this effect, according to reliable sources.

Meanwhile, the health Minister Djamel Ould Abbas has just decided to hire a total of 1.000 extra doctors in a bid to offset the recorded lack of physicians in various health specialties in public hospitals located in different parts of the country.
