Postal services call on Central Bank of Algeria for liquid assets to solve money crisis.

The hike in the salaries of civil servants numbering 600.000, decided recently by the government, has compounded the crisis facing the postal centres which currently lack the necessary cash to pay the recipients.

• As a result, the general management of postal services has urgently appealed to the central Bank of Algeria to supply the postal centres scattered across the country’s provinces with a fresh cash package in order to face up to the current money crisis.

• This untoward situation has ignited the ire and discontent of the postal accounts’ owners who vented their grievances in the face of the postal employees and managers who lamely responded that they were at a loss owing to a dire lack of money.

• The showdown between the 2 sides is still the order of the day pending the salutary and speedy intervention of the central Bank with the injection of fresh money outflows.
