Potato production reached record high this season

Several agriculture offices across the country Friday started the registration of farmers who produced huge quantities of potatoes in an operation set to continue till August 15.

• The agriculture ministry expects to collect some 150 thousands tons of this product on the eve of the holly month of Ramadan. The price was fixed to 25 Algerian Dinars for the kilogram to be sold 25 Algerian Dinars for the consumer.
• This operation, considered the first of its kind, comes as a result of the record production witnessed this year amid fears among the farmers of a eventual losses.
