Potato stock reaches satisfactory levels: minister says

The Algerian agriculture and rural development minister, Rachid Benaissa the operation initiated by the government a week ago to stock 50 thousand tons of potatoes to stabilize the prices on the market, has reached 30 thousand tons so far.

• The minister revealed that the operation is well underway adding that 25 thousand tons have been already collected to the last week , while a record quantity of 5 thousand tons was recorded within a day which means that the operation will be completed within few days only.
• M. Benaissa concluded saying that this new system contributed the well economic well being of the farmers and will bar the route for the speculators in the future.
