President Abdelaziz Bouteflika makes changes to the heads of three Military Regions

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has made some changes to the heads of three military regions, according to the presidential decree published Wednesday, August 25 in the Official Journal. 

• The Head of State has terminated the functions of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on three Military Regions, General Mustapha Chakour of the 4th MR, General Rachid Guettaf of the 5th MR, and General Noureddine Hambli.

• President Bouteflika has appointed new heads of the three military regions, according to decrees in the same official journal. General Mohand-Ameziane Si Mohand was appointed head of the 3rd MR, General Hassen Alaimia takes command of the 4th MR and the 5th MR is now led by the General Said Ziad.

• These appointments took effect from the 1st of August, according to the same decree.
•  
• The President also appointed new commanders at these Military Regions.
