President Abdelaziz Bouteflika said the lifting of the emergency was a “new step” in the way to overcome the fallouts of the black years.

” lifting the state of emergency doesn’t mean giving up eradication of terrorism remnants. It’s our country’s new step on the way to eliminate the consequences of the black years,” stressed President Bouteflika in his message to the participants in a conference held Saturday at Abderrahmane Kaki community arts centre of Mostaganem (355 km west of Algiers) to mark the Victory Day, read on his behalf by Mohamed Ali Boughazi, an adviser at the presidency of the Republic.

“Subject of change and reforms is one of the basic components on which various programs were built since a decade. Successive five-year programs which included administrative, judicial, and financial reforms and other sectors are only a prelude to the content of comprehensive reform which aim to change Algeria’s face in all fields”, Bouteflika added.

“What is realized today in areas of economic structures and major social, educational, transports, housing, communications, and youth projects, are the result of multidimensional reform that became an urgent necessity to get out of crisis and stalemate”, he explained.
