President Bouteflika poised to stamp out corruption and financial malpractice in several strategic sectors of activity
The President of the Republic, Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika, has ordered the national anti-corruption office to take the necessary steps to bring to light all the corruption affairs recorded over the past few years in several key sectors of national activity.
- Reliable sources told “Echorouk” that the head of state had issued firm instructions to the relevant official bodies to re-open all the pending files dealing with corruption, bribery, financial malpractice and money embezzlement as part of the “clean hands policy” spearheaded by President Abdellaziz Bouteflika who recently reaffirmed during a cabinet meeting that the anti-corruption struggle should be one of the government’s top priorities.
- Several sectors of activity including agriculture, water resources, foreign trade, electronics industry, customs and banks where shady and illicit practices were reported would be put under a deep perusal by the official anti-corruption investigators, according to the same sources.
