Presidential Elections 2014:FLN waits for Bouteflika's decision about a fourth term

Owners of the initiative 0f stripping FLN of partisanship are jobless politicians, a leading member in the reform movement in FLN, Mohamed Sghir Kara said.

Coordinator of the party, Abderrahmane Belayat, promised to fight against them, saying that the front needs a cover that protects its principles, “They have no right to assault the party whatever their seniority, they are not older than Ben Bella, Boudiaf, Krim Belkacem and Ait Ahmed.”

Kara refused to comment on starting the process of collecting signatures by the owners of the initiative of lifting partisanship on FLN, arguing that it falls within the political unemployment, and that those who stand behind it did not find what to do.

”The campaign would lead to negative results, which are revitalizing the militant basis of the party, which entered into a state of stagnation and recession after the overthrow of the former Secretary-General Abdelaziz Belkhadem, while Belayat said that FLN has more than 2.5 million voters, a feature that makes it different from other parties, but facing this campaign is the prerogative Party’s bodies”.

FLN coordinator asserted that the survival of the party without the secretary-general does not affect its activity, arguing that the Central Committee, which members split between supporters and opponents of Belkhadem, will take the lead, as well as political office which shall conduct the daily affairs of the party, and the front has its head, the President of the Republic.

”The president has the right to run for the fourth term, because the Constitution allows him to do that”, recalling the words of the former Secretary-General Abdelaziz Belkhadem, when he stressed the impossibility to run for the elections if Bouteflika will run, explaining that the Central Committee will announce its official position in a timely manner, and after the president announced his position towards the elections, and whether he has the intention to run for a fourth term or no.
