Prices of basic foodstuffs to fall back in few days, says Algerian Trade Minister
Algerian Trade Minister El Hachemi Djaâboub told reporters during an inspection visit Wednesday to the coastal province of Ain Temouchent, in western Algeria, that the prices of staple commodities would fall back in the next few days with the gradual stabilisation of the National market.

The minister explained the recent price hike in basic foodstuffs recorded at the onset of the holy month of fasting of Ramadhan by the sudden surge in demand.

During his working visit, the trade Minister inspected in Ain Temouchent several shopping malls as well as a brand new laboratory for the analysis of staple commodities set up in the Akid Othmane area to the cost of 7 billion centimes.

The laboratory project was achieved in just a 12 month period.
