Public treasury retrieves staggering sums of money squandered through tax evasions
Tax office of the province of Telemcen, western Algeria, has collected 1 .559 billion Algerian Dinars over the first semester of the year 2010 representing 183 cases of penalties the head of the communication cell at the Algerian customs head office has yesterday revealed.
- The released estimates have revealed that 51 offences were recorded and fined more than 341 million Algerian Dinars. 35 people have benefited from tax facilities using false declarations and misappropriated equipment designed for investment; they were fined 26 billion Algerian Dinars.
- The customs services have discovered that 32 operators were unknown and practice illegal activities, those were fined 30 billion Algerian Dinars.
- M Tanem Yacine has revealed to Echourok that the bulk of equipment put in auction has increased tenfold at the region of Telemcen inflating the local treasury by 22 billion Algerian Dinars as from January through September 30, 2010.
