Rabah Saâdane: “Raouraoua's comeback is reassuring…, street pressure was upsetting…, the Greens will receive Egypt in Blida stadium

National football coach Rabah Saâdane has said he is reassured at the most probable comeback of Mohamed Raouraoua at the helm of the Algerian Football Federation, stressing that he was afraid at the prospect of a big FAF management overhaul which would have brought into question his long- time program at the service of the Algeria football line-up.  

• Taking the floor during a press conference held on Saturday at the Hilton hotel in Algiers, Rabah Saâdane dwelt on the main objectives of the Algeria squad during the last round of the 2010 World cup and Africa cup Nations football contest, which is to kick off shortly.
• “Hamid Haddadj gave us a helping hand in our task”.
• Saâdane paid tribute to the outgoing chairman of the FAF Federation Hamid Haddadj and to his Federal bureau for allowing him to work in good conditions.
• “With the arrival of Raouraoua, the transition will be carried out smoothly. It’s in the interest of the Algerian national team”, he said.
• “What happened in Rouen, brought to light the lapses of certain players and the fragility of the squad”.
• The national coach also evoked the recent training camp of Rouen saying that the negative behaviour of some so-called professional players had driven him to adopt a more rigorous and stringent policy of selection for the benefit of all the Algeria squad.

• The Algerian International Rafik Saifi who plays with French first – league team FC Lorient will miss out on the friendly game between Algeria and Bénin stated for next Wednesday at 17h 30mn at the Blida stadium because of injury.
• “He wanted to join the group here in Algiers, but I advised him to stay in France for medical care. It’s in the interest of the national squad and his club “, Saâdane said.

• Asked about the multiple absences due to injuries at the level of the Algeria defensive line, the national coach waxed rather optimistic.
• “We always have alternatives at the level of every post. Sincerely, I am confident “, he said.

• Rabah Saâdane further announced that he had called 6 Algerian goalkeepers for a training camp scheduled for late February or early March in order to enhance their potentialities and put them at the service of the national squad during the upcoming crucial qualifiers which will kick off next March.
• “We will manage match by match”.
• Evoking the prime objective of the “Greens” during the 3rd and last round of the combined qualifiers of the 2010 world cup and Africa cup of nations competition, the national coach said that he would manage match by match without predicting any forecast of the results.
• “After the first 3 matches of this 3rd round, we will make an overall assessment in order to achieve the best possible result”, Saâdane pointed out.
