Raffarin visits Algeria to meet Prime Minister and Industry Minister
French Jean-Pierre Raffarin in charge of economic relations is expected to arrive to Algeria on Wednesday on a two-day-visit as part of economic relations reinforcement and boosting partnership between the two countries.
Raffarin told the Algeria News Agency (APS) he will visit Algeria for the second time as he was assigned by the French president and the foreign minister to reinforce and concretize a real economic partnership between his country and Algeria.
He added that progress was made in his mission and he will hold talks with the Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and the minister of industrial development and investment promotion Amara Benyounes.
The French official will meet with his Algerian counterparts ahead of the meeting of the joint government committee between the two countries due to be held in Algeria in December.
Raffarin’s visit comes as Algeria and France launched an important car making project in the province of Oran (west of Algiers) and medicines manufacturing project in the Sidi Abdellah town in Algiers.
Rafarin will examine with officials in Algiers a plant project in partnership between Total and Algeria’s energy group Sonatrach.
