Raouraoua to Echorouk: “The name of the new Algeria team coach will be known by mid July”

The chairman of the Algerian Football Federation, Mohamed Raouraoua, has denied persistent reports saying that he has already got in touch with a new coach at the helm of the Algerian national football squad in replacement of departing Rabah Saâdane. 

• Raouraoua told Echorouk that his current commitments with the World Football Governing Body (FIFA) during the unfolding world cup tournament in South Africa did not allow him to tackle the new coach issue for the time being.
• However, he announced that the name of the new Algeria team coach would be known on July 15th and not before that date, as he put it.
• Raouraoua indicated that the choice of the new Algeria coach would be made with thoughtfulness and carefulness in line with stringent criteria in order to allow the players of the national squad to further upgrade their level and cohesion and to be up to the mark in the future regional and international competitions.
• The next national coach will be first entrusted with breathing new life into the squad and preparing our players in the best conditions for the upcoming Africa cup of nations qualifiers as early as next September, he said.
• Mohamed Raouraoua also stressed that the new national coach would also strive to settle the lingering problem now besetting the team’s paltry forward line by picking out talented strikers with an efficient scoring ability for the benefit of the whole Algeria line-up in future fixtures at both the regional and world levels.
