Real say United have no evidence in Ronaldo complaint

Real Madrid president Ramon Caldreron has said Manchester United have no evidence to back their claim that the Primera Liga club are trying to lure Cristiano Ronaldo away from the European champions.

  • World football’s governing body FIFA said they had received a formal complaint from United on Monday over Real’s reported interest in signing the Portugal forward.
  • “They don’t have any evidence because nothing has happened,” Calderon told a meeting with journalists on Tuesday.
  • “All there is is what the papers say and rumours that the player seems to want to leave. But at the moment a move is impossible because United don’t want to sell him.
  • “It’s United’s right (to complain) but we haven’t done anything and we are not going to do anything. It’s a matter between the player and his club.”
  • The Spanish champions have made clear their admiration for Ronaldo in a number of public statements in recent weeks, whilst also acknowledging that the 23-year-old is a United player under contract.
