Religious affairs ministry allows associations to collect money for poor people
The religious affairs ministry has given the go ahead for the associations to collect for the poor citizens with the view to distributing them as of the 27th day of Ramadan that coincides with the holly night of “ Al Kadr” until the “ Aid El Fitr”. This year’s sum was estimated at 5000 Algerian Dinars for each citizen.

The ministry’s PR Adda Fellahi has indicated that instructions were given to all the governors across the country to inform the associations that the operation will be carried out in the mosques and that the collected sums should distributed before the Aid El Fitr.

Our interlocutor has asserted that the associations have been entrusted with setting up the lists of with of the people eligible for benefitting from the collected money and nobody else is allowed to interfere in this operation.

As to the community living abroad, M Fellahi has indicated the many Algerians take part to this obligatory religious act, one of the pillars of the Islamic religion, but it’s complicated to transfer them to their home country. However, many Algerians living overseas benefit from this money, he said.

As to the possibility to give part of the money to the Syrian refugees, M Fellah has noted that the Algerian authorities have already put at their disposal all the necessary commodities for a descent life.

M Fellahi has further indicated that the international contest of the holy Koran is slated for next Friday under the auspices of the president Bouteflika, noting that the winner will get 1 million Algerian Dinars whereas the second will get 800 thousands.
