Repentant terrorist busted for drug trafficking

The investigating cell of Tlemcen (western Algeria) national gendarmerie the day before yesterday arrested the ring leader of network specialized in drug smuggling to finance the terrorist organization “ Salafit Predication Protectors” operating in the western parts of the country under Salim Al Afghani’s command

• Well informed sources revealed that the investigators were informed that a man was dealing drug in the region of Sabdou, prompting them to open an inquiry leading to the arrest of an individual and seized 17.6 Kg of cannabis.
• The trafficker revealed afterwards that the identity of the mastermind who was busted by the security elements in the same region with 65.3 Kg of drug on his possession.
• The convict was an active member in a terrorist group who benefited of the national reconciliation plan in 2002 but remained in touch with a terrorist group operating in the “Bird’s mountain” region under the allegiance of the “ Salafit Predication Protectors” organization, and was steadily financing them with the drug’s incomes.
